Default Buying and Selling Unidentified Gold Items

Hello GW Guru folks! I am a transplant from gwonline.net. I have fled from their community due to the despotic dictators which reign over the populace. I am sick and tired of crafting what I feel would be an interesting topic and posting a new thread only to log in later to check for responses only to find my prose has been deleted without warning or explanation. I hope the moderators here are a bit more diplomatic. Let's find out.

My question to the community involves the sale and purchase of unidentified gold items. You see, I am a farmer. My favorite harvest area provides me with a good supply of gold weapons of varying quality some of which are Fiery Dragon Swords. Well, a guildy of mine told me that if I were to find a max damage Fiery Dragon Sword with a low requirement I should sell it unidentified because I am more likely to get a higher sale price.

Well, I got lucky the other day and managed to gleen a gold Fiery Dragon Sword with max damage and a requirement of 10 from one of my runs. I promptly took my treasure to Lion's Arch and began broadcasting as unidentified with a sale price of 25K obo. Several people looked at the sword as well as several others I had available but no one was confident enough in the unidentifed item to trade gold. I'm not one to sit and spam for hours on end since I quickly become bored and long to be back in action side of the game. Having reached my limit I identify my item. Lucky me, +13% while enchanted and +5 armor. I later sold the item for 40K.

Previously, I had a similar circumstance. Again, I was selling an undentified gold sword (wingblade) with max damange and a requirement of 9. The sale price was 25K and I ventured to several towns and districts in the hopes of finding a buyer. Again, I got bored and identified the sword. +14% while enchanted and +30HP. This item later sold for 80K.

Now, don't get me wrong. I have identified my share of dogs (+12% while hexed, ect). My point is that the possibility does exist to get more than your money's worth when buying unidentified gold items.

How much would you pay for an unidentified gold item? How much HAVE you paid for an unidentified gold item? Was it worth it? Let's hear some stories!

I am a little broke right now, lol - but I will always pay $20K-$25K for a max UnIded Holy Rod/Staff.

The last staff I bought for $20K turned out to be a Insightful (+4) Holy Staff of Defense (+4) w/ 8% Skill Recharge.

...but I won't mention the rest
